* plus ~ 1 hour to make sugared cranberries

ingredients

Punch

 

3 Tbsp maple sugar

2 Tbsp kosher salt

1 1/2 cups silver tequila

2 cups cranberry juice (no sugar added)

3/4 cup Cointreau

1 cup fresh squeezed lime juice

3/4 cup fresh cranberries

1/4 - 1/2 cup pure Vermont maple syrup (to taste)

Orange zest (from 1 orange)

3-4 cups ice

Blood orange slices, cut in half for garnish

 

Sugared Cranberries

2 cups fresh cranberries

1/2 cup pure Vermont maple syrup

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

Mix salt and maple sugar on a small plate and rim each glass.

​

In a blender, combine tequila, cranberry juice, Cointreau, lime juice, fresh cranberries, and maple syrup.

​

Add ice, and blend until slushy. Add orange zest, and blend until just combined. 

​

Pour into the rimmed glasses.

​

Slice a blood orange round in half, and add one half to each drink. 

​

Sugared Cranberries

​

In a bowl, mix 2 cups of fresh cranberries and a 1/2 cup of maple syrup. Let sit for 10 minutes. Strain, and add to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle granulated sugar over cranberries and mix until coated. Let dry for at least 1 hour. Garnish cocktail with 3 sugared cranberries on a cocktail pick or toothpick.
